So you bought a new vape and want to keep it for long? Then you’ve come to the right place. Most vapes don’t stop working due to malfunction, they simply die due to negligence and low maintenance. As you smoke through your vape, tar and other residue gets deposited in the various corners of your vape. If you smoke concentrates, then there is a good chance that your tank/bowl needs a cleaning.

Any vape has 3 major parts to it, the tank, the coil, and the battery unit. In case of mech and box mods, these parts may differ otherwise all major vapes have these 3 components in them. Follow our in-depth guide to clean these parts regularly and prolong the life of your product.

The Tank Cleaning

1- Detach the tank and drain it

2- Disassemble your tank and soak it in warm water for 10 minutes

3- Take some high proof non flavored vodka and dampen a cloth

4- Use the cloth to scrub down all parts of your tank until all the gunk is removed.

5- Wipe and Rinse in water

6- Air Dry for 30 mins

7- Reassemble and use

Basic Cleaning

1- Take some cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol

2- Dampen the cotton swab and scrub out the visible gunk from your coil

3- Repeat and let it Air Dry for 10 mins

But vape coils deteriorate over time and you are going to have to replace them later on down the line. You need to replace your vape coil if:

1- It is visibly burnt

2- Smoky Flavour when vaping

3- Uneven heating

Some other tips to help prolong the life of your vaporizer.

1- Maintain the ideal liquid level

Overfilling or underfilling the tank will lead to uneven operation of your vape which will reduce the life of your coil and liquid chamber. Find the right amount of liquid for your tank and stick to it. This will also reduce the amount of regular cleaning your tank would be requiring.

2- Store your liquid in ideal conditions

Vape liquid can often overheat in extreme environments and thin out. This lack of viscosity in the liquid can cause it to seep through your vape’s parts causing it to malfunction. Hence, it would be a good idea to pay attention to your vape liquid’s storage conditions.
