Hardest Retro Game Bosses
The one last level or mission just before the triumph or the much anticipated ‘end card’, is to defeat the boss. Boss fights usually test our patient, but the old bosses did much more. Play retro games to fathom the insanity of these bosses; defeating them would give a sense of achieving something incredible.
C’Thun – World Of Warcraft
Introduced with a patch 1.9 in 2006, C’thun was tough. It would swallow the players randomly and digest them slowly. Further, it had powers that could kill instantly kill anyone with a single ray of beam. Weakening him for short periods did little to affect his overall health. C’thun was a real pain for the gamers.
Yellow Devil – Mega Man
Many of the gamers consider the Yellow Devil as the most unfair boss. He could split into pieces quickly; players had to dodge by memorizing the patterns of the splitting. Then, he would reform and fire at the player quickly. The player could sometimes fire his eyes, which is unreachable by Mega Man’s buster otherwise.
Mike Tyson – Punch Out
The game originally released in 1984, is an NES classic, which teaches all about boxing and knowing when to strike. Tyson was brutal, capable of knocking out the player at any time and lacking any opening. It was tough, but when Tyson fell, the victory tastes delicious.
Pandemonium Warden – Final Fantasy XI
The encounter with Pandemonium Warden is deviously long, which would take hours of play before completing it. He was brutally strong, possessing twenty different forms, with each having their own strategy and requiring several hours to defeat them.
Bison – Street Fighter 2
The game’s most nasty fighter, Bison was not like any other fighter in the game, his attacks were unorthodox. It was necessary for the players to master various techniques, learning his moves and openings, thus becoming a better player to defeat him. Bison might have been tough, but he was not unbeatable.
Emerald Weapon – Final Fantasy 7
With a health pool of one million and a twenty-minute time limit, it is one of the most difficult bosses to defeat. Its storm technique would deal damage to the players based on, the number of materia they equipped multiplied by 1111. This ensured that the characters holding nine materials died instantly. Although there are strategies to defeat the Emerald Weapon quickly, not everyone had access to guide in those days.
